Check for Recalled Smoke Alarms

Facility managers may want to check the smoke alarms installed in their buildings after a manufacturer has recalled more than 226,000 smoke alarms and combined smoke and carbon monoxide alarms.

The recalled alarms, from Kidde in the TruSense line, can fail to alert users to fires, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). The units included in the recall include Kidde Model Series 2040, 2050, 2060, and 2070. Only alarms with the TruSense logo or “AMBER=FAULT” printed on the front of the alarm are included in this recall. The model number is printed on the back of the alarm, according to the CPSC.

Facility managers currently using any of these models should immediately contact Kidde for a free replacement at 844-796-9972
