SC Johnson Offers Hand Hygiene Tips in Time for Global Handwashing Day

October 13, 2022

In recognition of Global Handwashing Day, which takes place on October 15, SC Johnson Professional recently shared a series of tips to promote proper handwashing protocols in the workplace.

SC Johnson’s handwashing tips include:

  • Follow a Targeted Hygiene Program
Key times to wash your hands include after coughing or sneezing; after using the restroom; before cooking, eating, and drinking; after using public transportation; and when sharing common areas with people who are sick.
  • Learn Proper Hand Hygiene Techniques
To properly wash your hands, run them under water, then lather with soap and scrub your hands for at least 20 seconds, followed by rinsing the soap off your hands and drying them with hot air or a clean towel.
  • Encourage Hand Hygiene at Your Facility
Promoting frequent handwashing in your facility through videos, posters, or newsletters can help encourage a safe environment that reduces the spread of germs. Always keep hand hygiene supplies in facility restrooms fully stocked and dispensers in good working condition.
