Flu Activity Continues to Rise

January 6, 2020

Keep up your facility disinfection measures, especially as students return to school this week and many workers come back from holiday breaks. Seasonal flu activity in the United States is high and continues to increase, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Weekly U.S. Influenza Surveillance Report

The number of states and jurisdictions experiencing high flu activity jumped to 37 the week ending December 28, compared to 28 the previous week. Only five states—Hawaii, Michigan, Missouri, Montana, and Nevada—reported low flu activity and two states—Delaware and Idaho—reported minimal activity.
According to CDC estimates, there have been at least 6.4 million flu illnesses so far this season, resulting in 55,000 hospitalizations and 2,900 deaths.

As you prepare for busier schools and workplaces this week, here are some tips to help you eliminate flu germs from restrooms.
