ISSA Teams Up With National Safety Council in SAFER Task Force
ISSA recently joined 55 other trade groups, businesses, and government entities as part of the National Safety Council’s SAFER: Safe Actions for Employee Returns Task Force, a comprehensive, multifaceted effort to guide employers through the process of safely resuming traditional work and operations now and in a post-pandemic environment.
The SAFER Task Force was created to ensure worker safety during the current public health crisis and to deliver on two critical needs facing the United States:
- Consolidated, data-driven guidance and recommendations for safe return to and continuation of work
- A trusted voice looking across industry, government, labor, healthcare, trade association, and other key stakeholder needs.
The core objective of the SAFER Task Force is sustainable safe operations for employers and workers across the United States in a post-pandemic environment. In the longer term and as preparation for future pandemics, the SAFER Task Force will seek to capture the systemic changes and lessons learned from this crisis. This may include broader reports, guidance, or recommendations as appropriate.
“ISSA is honored to be part of this important and influential group,” said John Nothdurft, ISSA Director of Government Affairs. “We look forward to working with the SAFER Task Force to provide cleaning and disinfecting guidance to help Americans return safely to work.”
ISSA is working diligently to support the full spectrum of the cleaning industry, in the United Statesand the world during the COVID-19 emergency, by providing a variety of government affairs resources to support our members during this challenging time.
